STUDENT FAQ

You will want to bring all your personal items such as towels, shower curtains, toiletries, clothes, bedding for a twin XL bed, etc. You might want to call your roommates ahead of time to figure out what kitchen items they already own or are planning to bring. This way you don’t have 3 toasters taking up your precious kitchen storage space. A vacuum is provided in the apartment, but you will need to supply a broom, trash can, mop, etc.

Check-ins will be in the lobby starting at 9 am on the first day of your contract. Be sure to watch your email for information regarding how to prepay your rent so you don’t have to wait in the longer line on check-in day. If you can’t make it in time for check-ins and need to arrive after office hours, go straight to your assigned apartment. If you are locked out, call the emergency line, or leave the office a message through the emergency prompting and the on-call manager will let you in for the night. You can check in with us the next day that we are open!

All utilities are included in the rent, including internet! You’ll never have to worry about what your utility bill will be. We’ll take care of that for you.
Rent is due in full when you check in. If you are paying your rent with scholarship/financial aid money, you must have at lease your security deposit and any parking you reserved paid for. For a $50 payment plan fee, you are able to break payments up into 3 payments. The first of 3 payments is due when you check in and the remaining payments will be set up with The Cove staff prior to check-ins.
The school has a Ward and Stake Locator on their website. Just select The Cove and it will tell you what ward you should be attending.

Parking must be requested for each individual semester. We send out the parking reservation email usually a few months before check-in day, depending on the semester and demand. That reservation email is only sent to residents’ BYUI emails, so be checking that regularly.  Visitor parking is clearly marked but is only honored during approved visiting hours. If you have overnight guests, please come to the leasing office during our hours so we can get you a temporary pass.

Our hours are not just from 9 to 5. We have a member of the team available 24/7 who are experienced in addressing your student’s needs no matter what time of day they need it.
